Los Angeles based artist Nate Harrison created the audio installation Can I Get An Amen? in 2004 to explore what he calls: “A meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip.”
Here it is folks, another top podcast to look out for. This week’s pick is from seminal west-coast hip-hop label Stones Throw.
There are eight episodes available opening up with a tribute to the late, great J Dilla. The retro ‘82 set from Peanut Butter Wolf & Baron Zen is a laugh-a-minute hour of electro funk with more vocoders than you can shake a mic at. Madlib’s 45s mix is worth checking too.

Well that’s it for another year. Urban Picnic Sounds seems to have flown by and is over once more. What a weekend, eh?
For the 4th year running Blunt Beats presents Urban Picnic Sounds at Rythms Of The World festival in Hitchin Herts on the 15th and 16th July. Two great days were enjoyed by all, the sun shone and the vibe was spot on.

On a weekly basis (and starting next week) I’ll be posting up a quick review and link to a fresh podcast that I’ve blundered across in the course of hunting down top-quality, free audio on the web. They’ll be mostly music based and will be centred around the types of music and vibe that Blunt Beats are all about.
During a quiet point in the build up to UPS we hooked up for an impromptu radio session. The highlight of this was an off-the-cuff jam by DJ Prolifik and MC Sirota.
