Allsorts: Download/Tracklist details

In a slight change from the advertised programme, last nights radio show saw Marcus Hurley and Agent M putting in 2 hour sets apiece for our “Allsorts” session, as the Erbalist was unavailable. And jolly good sets they were too. From breakbeat to Bowie, and everything inbetween. The full show can be downloaded via our radio page for the next 7 days. A combination of too much work, traffic jams, and general sleep-deprivation means my eyes are hanging out of my head today. So, you may have to wait until tomorrow for the tracklisting. I’m getting old, and I’m not sure I’ll have the energy to do it later on when I return to Blunt HQ after this particular 13 hour day!! (but it will be posted by tomorrow night without fail) – For now, catch the download and enjoy the music!

Something Important For Once (The Jena 6)

Now, we’re know for being peace-loving slackers here at HQ, and we don’t often get political and stuff, but, this is an exception. A big one, and an important one. The case of the Jena 6 is an absolute disgrace.

In a nutshell, this is a scandalous case of racism that is seeing half a dozen people looking at a long time behind bars for something that would be farcical if it were not so harrowing. I haven’t really got the skills to put together an editorial to do it justice here, so I’ll give you some links:

Dex Digital at mixtapeshow.net interviews James Rucker, giving a detailed insight into this case.

James Rucker is from www.colorofchange.org. – Please visit their site and show your support. It’s important.

Take a minute to visit these links. Please. Educate yourself and spread the word, as this shouldn’t be swept aside.

Allsorts

It’s that time once again when the Blunt Beats Resident DJs take a long and dusty look in their record boxes, to present you with a selection that is both sublime and indulgent (in the best possible way). You should know what to expect by now.

Allsorts. Beats from across the years, and across the genres, all put together in one big four hour melting pot. This coming Wednesday from 8pm UK time, with the Erbalist, Marcus Hurley, and Agent M. We’ve also received a flyer from Lili in Hungary, which I’ve posted along with the Blunt HQ effort…. Continue reading…

Moonstompin’ – full tracklist and download details

Wednesday nights live radio session was a bit special. The crew donned their Harringtons, pulled up their braces, and played some top quality (and very rare) ska and rocksteady sounds. Blunt residents Agent M and the Erbalist were joined by guest DJ Matty J on their trip into some antique skankin’ wax. You can download this set until next Thursday via our radio page, and rest assured, we’ll be keeping this one archived for future reference. Anyway, a full tracklisting for the entire night is below. Enjoy! :)

A Quick Reminder…

We just thought it was worth reminding you guys that the Family Blunt are out and about with our record boxes this weekend. We’re back for our fortnightly “Sunday session” entitled Off The Cuff, at the George II, Bute St. Luton, Beds.

Expect to hear a mixup of classic funk, soul, jazz, hip hop, reggae, and other pieces n’ bits from Blunt Beats Residents Doug, Agent M, and The Erbalist. We power up the speakers at 7, and keep going ’til around 11pm. It’s free to get in, so if you’re in the area, pop down and say hello to the faithful. Round your weekend off with a beer, a game of pool, and some Blunted background music. Nice :)

Smoking Behind The Bike Sheds

Noodles For You – Tracklisting

Right then. It’s taken a few days to get this done, mainly due to being busy, going to gigs, and getting a cold (and being a bit slack) – Anyway, last Wednesday’s radio show saw us on an electronic tip here at HQ. Noodling once again was J, and Agent M. Continue reading…
