It’s been a while, but out good friends Burt Fox and Sonny Noir at Riot Control have been busy. Episode 9 in their high-quality, on-point podcasts has just been released. Riot Control 9 is out now people, so do yourself a favour and download it! This episode strays from the usual dub/funk/hip hop formula, and focuses on electronic music as selected by Burt himself. Fully recommended by the crew here, and we’re already looking forward to Riot Control 10!

(Oh yeah, Burt’s been working on on lots of his own tunes of late, some of which will be premiered in future RC episodes. If you can’t wail ’til then, check out his myspace.)

Blunt Beats residents the Erbalist and Agent M are joined by guest DJ Matty J on the night. Straight up, heavyweight, roots, dancehall, and dub sounds in the area. Be sure to catch this one.

As predicted, Wednesday nights show was top-notch, providing audio indulgence from across the years and across the genres. “Allsorts” certainly summed the evening up, especially when Doug’s laptop died just before he was due to start a hand-picked electronic set. This saw him immediately turn to some of his hip hop tunes (on wax!), that were close to hand, and you lucky people were treated to a totally unrehearsed selection of fine UK beats. We’re nice chaps here at Blunt HQ. Thoroughly good eggs. We’re like the Trevor McDonald’s of the webworld. Except, of course, that nobody in their right mind would trust us to read the news, and we haven’t got a knighthood between us.

Anyway, because we’re nice (or I am, anyway…), I’ve been through all the posts on the site, linking those applicable with a download tag. Put simply, you can now use the download tag (in the green column on the right, titled “Tags”) to bring up all the posts with mix download links for sets from all the blunt beats residents.

This will allow you to get to the tunes (which, lets face it, is what it’s all about) a little bit quicker. Gold star for me.

Tonights live radio sees the return of well-received our allsorts show. Put simply, we give three DJs and hour and twenty to play what they like. Totally indulgent.
