Vibin’ Heavy

We had ourselves a storming session at Casa Jambo last night. Good times had by all. Blunt Beats Radio was back on the reggae tip, in terms of our Heavy Vibes show. Blunt Residents Agent M and the Erbalist were reunited on the turntables for the first time in over 6 months, and got their easy vibe on successfully, with plenty of dub, roots, rocksteady and ska, with a touch of dancehall thrown in for good measure.

It was just like the old days! :) ….Loads of fun, not taking ourselves too seriously, and some top tunes to boot.

A full tracklisting of the entire 4 hour show is below, and you you can download the entire broadcast via our radio page for the next 7 days.

Praise be to Jah!

More Heavy Vibes

We figured it was time to give your sound system a low-end workout. Tomorrows live radio show sees us back in Heavy Vibes mode. Fresh from his recent worldly travels, we welcome back Blunt Selecta the Erbalist, who will be joining our other reggae-resident Agent M to provide you with 4 hours of skankin’ tunes. Expect to hear roots, ska, dub, and rocksteady sounds all in the mix. All on wax. As it should be.

These two haven’t played a reggae set together (or any kind of set for that matter) for the best part of 6 or 7 months at least, so we’re looking forward to it. You should be in for a treat too.

Best get the Dragon Stout in, and make sure you have enough pipe-filler for the duration. That’s our advice.

Blunt Beats Radio presents Heavy Vibes. Live from 8pm Uk time, Wednesday 25th February, with Blunt Beats Residents the Erbalist and Agent M. www.bluntbeats.com/radio

AFRO Playback

As predicted, last nights AFRO radio show was heavyweight tunes of the highest order. Fresh as the proverbial daisy, and as hard as the proverbial bag of nails. Dubstep, Grime, Drum and Bass, Reggae, and Electronica were all thrown in the mix for you lucky weblanders.

Music from Blunt Residents Agent M and Doug was complimented by not one, but two, guest mixes from the crew at Planet Terror Records, courtesy of Mantra and Jack Orion. Totally top-notch stuff. We really enjoyed it!

A full tracklisting for this bass-fest is below. And dont forget you can download the entire 4 hour show via our radio page for the next 7 days.

Exclusive AFRO Terror

The title of this post doesn’t refer to some obscure Blaxploitation flick. What I’m getting at is the fact that this weeks live radio show sees the return of our AFRO (Absolute Fucking Rinse Out) night. And, as an special for you lucky people, alongside Blunt Residents Doug and Agent M, the night will include 2 exclusive mixes from Mantra and Jack Orion, from the Planet Terror Records crew.

This one’s gonna be serious…

You should know what to expect by now. Dubstep, Jungle, Grime, Dub, Drum and Bass, Breakbeat, and anything else we think you should damage your speakers with.

Blunt Beats Radio presents AFRO, with Doug and Agent M, with exclusive mixes from Mantra and Jack Orion from Planet Terror Records. Live this Wednesday from 8pm UK time. www.bluntbeats.com/radio

A Black Belt In Questioning

blackbelt.JPGBeing the inquisitve souls that we are, we thought it would be a good idea to catch up with BlackBeltJonez, who kindly provided the spot-on hip hop guest mix for this weeks Smoking Behind The Bike Sheds radio show. We like what the guy is doing, and enjoyed his tunes the other day. Therefore, it seemed like a good idea to get in touch and chew the fat via an exclusive interview.

We tracked him down, and our own Agent M put some questions and (not so) hilarious quips to this south coast resident and DJ, just to let you all know what he’s up to.

So…lets get down to business, shall we?

Gold Star For Me

smoking shizzle

I’m such a good boy. I’ve been busy here at Blunt HQ, doing my homework and compiling the tracklisting from last nights nostalgic Smoking Behind The Bike Sheds radio session. Top tunes all round they all were, too. Give the DJs a Mars Bar each as a a prize.(They can eat it at breaktime, if they’re good).

Blunt Resident Marcus Hurley started the night off with a selection of breakbeat and drum and bass classics, which was then followed by and on-point mix from guest DJ BlackBeltJonez. Some great tunes there, and some classic hip hop treasures. Pleasure to hear them! All being well, we should an interview with BlackBeltJonez up here at Blunt Beats very soon!

Then, it was left up to our own Agent M to finish up the night with an across the board mix of tunes showing his age!

A full tracklisting is below, and don’t forget you can donwload the whole 4 hour show for the next 7 days via our radio page.
