FIRST RECORD: The first record I actually went out to seriously buy as a kid was “The Show”, by Doug E Fresh. Still think it’s a bloody great tune.

PLAYS: Whatever I feel like, mostly. Usually it’s reggae, hip hop, and funk, but I’ve been known to play lots of electronic stuff too.

WHY?: Because I enjoy it, and I love my music. Simple as that. If anyone else does, it’s a bonus.

5 MUST-HAVE ALBUMS: This changes daily! Right now, I’d say:
1) “Paid In Full” – Eric B and Rakim (one of the first albums I ever took seriously)
2) “Logical Progression Vol I” – LTJ Bukem (this album made my head explode the first time I heard it! Great stuff)
3) “Dimension Intrusion” – F.U.S.E (Richie Hawtin and John Aquaviva on a chillout tip)
4) “Entroducing” – DJ Shadow (the whole album is a classic for me)
5) “Blue Lines” – Massive Attack (see above)

Ask me tomorrow, and you’ll get a totally different answer!

LIKES: Hip hop. Fried Chicken. Fresh Adidas. Tony Hancock. 70s cop shows. Fizzy drinks.

DISLIKES: Vinegar. Morrisey. Reality TV shows. Cheap shoes. MySpace.

WORDS OF WISDOM: Make music, or DJ or whatever, because you like it. Do it because you enjoy it. Not because it’s “cool” at the moment, or your girlfriend likes it, or you think you’ll make money. You’ll soon get found out by those of us with hearing problems, empty pockets, and bad backs!
