Some Culinary Advice

tv02.jpgOkay, I know I’m going a little off-tangent here…

It’s not very “British” to complain about a bad retail experience. Well, us stiff-upper-lips might mumble to our chums, but remonstrating in the shop isn’t the done thing. It’s the sort of thing the French do, old bean…

(Well, that’s when they’re not eating horses, or holding the country to ransom over petrol and taxes, or striking in their airports….but, I’m digressing here….) Frankly, knickers to all that. Our Gallic brothers have got it right if you ask me. Viva La Revolution! Continue reading…

Autechre and Antipop in Amsterdam – March 2008

Melkweg Sign

Thought I’d share some nice memories from my recent excursion with you all.

It had been at least a good 8 months since I last visited the Dam.
Far too long, I know… :)

Having done officially bugger all on my birthday this year, I figured it would be a good time to pay another visit, go on a Steak and Chocomel binge and see some mind blowing gigs @ The Melkweg. And that I did. Continue reading…

Erbalist out & about again.

Hi there folks. I just thought I’d drop a line to let you know about my travels in March & April, & to big up all the peeps involved.

First of the party’s was down in sunny Brighton for the Ted Live show from the Volks Club, where myself Agent M, SdZ & Minnie Adenoid drove down in the little red go kart. We arrived in Brighton & headed straight for the beach (well it was sunny!) The night didn’t start till 11pm so we meandered around for a bit, & met up with a few of Agent M’s old uni pals, along with Operata M and Tribal Editor for a few afternoon drinks and smokes on the beach. We were starting as we were meaning to go on.

Family Blunt snowboarding experience

elecperiodic.jpg

While the grumpy old gits amongst us (i.e. me) moan and complain about snow and ice, some of the unhinged within our family take sub-zero temperatures and snowfall as some kind of freakish challenge, and throw themselves off mountains.

To put it another way, the Erbalist, SdZ, Doug, Mikeee, Rich and Alex decided to go snowboarding in Bulgaria a couple of weeks ago. It would seem a good time was had by all.

But don’t take my word for it, the Erbalist has compiled a short review report on the shenanigans on the piste (in more ways than one)

Knickers to that – too much like hard work….I was safely ensconced at Blunt HQ with a cup-a-soup, while the alpine contingent tried to defy gravity, and fair play to ‘em.

The report on the week long excursion, as seen by the Erbalist, is below:

Erbalist and Ras Garvey on the loose in Amsterdam

propercast.gif

In order to celebrate both the New Year, and Ra’s Garvey’s birthday in a true blunted fashion, the Erbalist and Mr Garvey had a word with Stelios and his big orange flying machine and headed off to Amsterdam. What follows is a report from the Erbalist on the events (and blunts!) that followed.

Straight off the plane & whisked along by rail to Amsterdam’s Central station, then by foot to Barney’s for breakfast, stopping off at the Pink Floyd coffeeshop to get some special ingredients to go along with breakfast. A great way to start new years eve… Continue reading…
