After the fantastic success of the last drum and bass mix, here’s another joint of upfront and brand new white-label vinyl — placed in my hand by Nicky Blackmarket himself, right there in his record shop in Soho, London.

The track selection is a blend of jump-up, ragga influenced sounds and some real vocal pearlers. Most of the tunes on this mix will be big summer anthems on the d&b scene.

A couple of my favourites are “Crank” by Nicky Blackmarket which is a real bone shaker, “Just A Little Bit Closer” by Bungle — a lovely vocal liquid sounding track — and finally, the new Ram Recordings “Dumpling Riddim” by Chase and Status (dj/producers who are blowing up things on the scene right now and are working with just about everyone).

These tracks are being kept on ice until the Screwball night on 2nd June, which is sure to be a ram jammed, wall-to-wall, sweatbox of an event! Where the Blunt Beats crew and I are DJ’ing. Listen up, get your teeth stuck in and please leave a comment to relay your thoughts.
