We’re on a different vibe for this week’s podcast review. This week’s pick is straight from the HQ of legendary drum & bass imprint Hospital Records. Hosted by “Mr Hospital himself”, London Elektricity, this bi-weekly D&B podcast has reached episode nine; and there’s a few video episodes too.
The blurb states: “Bringing you the hottest upfront Jungle and Drum and Bass dubs, unsigned tunes and fast soul.” – and it pretty much delivers on that claim.
Each episode weighs in at around 40min. or so and is a mix of tunes from the Hospital stable and many more from associated artists and labels.
A good balance is struck between letting the music play and the presenter offering a little background to each track. This works really well so the podcast feels like a radio show, giving you the info and tune IDs, but still lets you get into the flow of the mix.
The particular style of liquid drum and bass may not be to everyone’s taste, but for a load of free audio you can’t really complain. Check it out…
