OK we’ve skipped a week or so on the podcast reviews, so to average things out here’s a quality find. The Paris DJs podcast is a weekly audio blog from north-east Paris by a couple of guys named Loïk Dury and Djouls.
Taken from their site: “Disappointed by the formatting of the medias, they decided to launch this ParisDjs.com blog to spread their Podcast recorded with their crew of old veterans and young Parisian foxes. So mixes, selections, histories of the music, battles, debates and legendary mix-tapes will flower each week in there. You will finally be able (re-)discover the true soulful spirit of the North-East Paris”.
If you had to pigeon-hole their music then you could call it funk, but that genre covers a helluva lot of ground – and this podcast follows suit.
There’s a whopping 36, half-hour episodes tucked away and a few regular shows emerging on themes such as:
African Mashed Potato Popcorn, Mr Moo’s Cajun Funk, Vintage Robot Soul or 21st Century Roots. All top stuff!
Every week is completely fresh, thoughtfully programmed and meticulously tracklisted for the trainspotters and diggers out there.
Take it from me, you are missing something special if you pass up on this free funk. Get stuck in, mon amis…

Thanks for the praise!
Check also the exclusive tracks, bootlegs, remixes to download on the second podcast: George Clinton, The Procussions, TY, Erik Rug & Dynamax, The Mackrosoft… it’s all 100% exclusive tracks you won’t find anywhere else!!
Djouls 4 Paris DJs crew (which is MUCH more than Loik & me – add for starters Doctor L, Manu Boubli, Erik Rug, Soulist, Soul Stereo Sound System, Captain Detendu, Gilb’R…)
