tpd_bike.gifRight then. IDM this week. TAKE PILLS DIE Records. Damn good. Check it.

That’s all I need to say really, but I’ll elaborate… Take Pills Die is a “Netlabel” or “Sonic Zine” from a guy called Andrew Julian Cauthen that’s been running since 2001.

The descriptions above fit it very well as this is more than just a podcast.

Take Pills Die comes across as more of an art project based around: “IDM, Ambient, Avant Garde and Experimental Electronic Folk Music”.

From the site: “Promoting quality of life for all, not just the people with the mark of the beast. Enjoy :) ”.

The take pills die / prison planet is here for those individuals that need the motivation. “Enlightenment is a man’s emergence from his own self-imposed immaturity. There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

I’ve downloaded a bundle of these fellas and have been playing them repeatedly for weeks. All I can say to describe them is that they’re rolling trips through atmospheric soundscapes that float along with a healthy amount of randomness for well over an hour apiece. Just to excite the audiophiles out there – TPD is published in Ogg Vorbis format. Like I said at the top – Damn good. Check it!
