We’ve recently uploaded a selection of live Dj sets from our recent outing at Urban Picnic Sounds, a 2 day festival affair that took place about a month ago (see the Urban Picnic Sounds posts for more info)
Anyhow, the Ras Pizzler was bang on it (and the audio! arf arf) over the weekend, ensuring that all the sets were recorded for the Blunt Archive. What I’ve done is post up the sets from our guest Djs over the weekend, to give you a bit of a taste of whats to come. The sets in question, and their descriptions, are below.
We’ll be releasing more set for you to download from the weekend very soon. Bear in mind that these sets were recorded at a festival, in a family/chill-out area, so please excuse the announcements for lost kids, music workshops, and programme sales!
Adam Wiliams - Adam has guested for us several times, but this was his first time playing at UPS. Needless to say, he stepped up to the decks with some quality tunes. This set was recorded around 3pm on an extremely hot Saturday afternoon (much to the crowds approval), and is a smooth mixture of lo-fi, laid back summertime beats .
Swainy Roots Souljah - Solution Sounds honcho Swainy provided the reggae roots vibe, mid afternoon, and was a pleasure to hear. He was accompanied on his set by long time Blunt friend Sirota toasting on the mic. Top Stuff.
Prolifik - Needs no introduction. Back once again guesting on the UPS stage was blunt cohort Dj Prolifik. This was recorded around the point on Saturday when everyone got their groove on. Agent M got the crowd into a hip hop and funk mood, leaving the way open for Prolifik to touch down with a heavy soul based hip hop set, showcasing his skills at the art of turntablism. Wicked!
