Urban Picnic Sounds 2006 Buzz Pt2

Four and a bit weeks to go and things are gathering pace for UPS2006. We’re proud to announce the setlist for both days on the Urban Picnic Sounds stage at Rhythms of The World

Day one - Saturday 15th July 2006

  1. 12:00 – 13:00: All the crew will be opening up with a back-to-back warm-up session
  2. 13:00 – 14:00: Doug stepping up for an hour of worldwide sounds of funk, hip-hop & soul.
  3. 14:00 – 15:00: Neil Fox, our first special guest of the weekend and co-founder of FilmStock, providing a cinematically influenced selection.
  4. 15:00 – 16:00: The Erbalist dusts off the funk 45s.
  5. 16:00 – 17:00: Marcus G Hurley on a funk, soul and raregroove tip.
  6. 17:00 – 18:00: DJ Prolifik returns once again to tear the place up with his own style of high-grade turntablism.
  7. 18:00 – 19:00 Agent M taking over for a downtempo selection of funk, reggae and hip-hop.
  8. 19:00 – 20:00 The one and only DJ Hughes will wrap things up with some chilled out hip hop and soulful breaks.

Day two - Sunday 16th July 2006

  1. 12:00 – 13:00: All the crew will be opening up once again with a freestyle session.
  2. 13:00 – 14:00: Agent M will touch down with electronica and lo-fi beats.
  3. 14:00 – 15:00: Doug presents funk and future-jazz from far-afield.
  4. 15:00 – 16:00: DJ Hughes brings his blunted dub sounds to the forefront.
  5. 16:00 – 17:00: Marcus G Hurley with soul, blues and R&B superbly blended for the summer sunshine.
  6. 17:00 – 18:00: Erbalist provides ska and rocksteady to finish off the festival in fine style.

That line-up is looking extra special and we have a few surprises planned for the event too. No ifs, no buts, and no excuses – you just gotta make sure you’re there.

Hello its that time again when we will be worrying about the weather for the weekend for rotw.The forcast is in and its going to be a scorcher hot hot hot!!!!.So there is no excuses and i expect you to wear a smile and get down to Bancroft Gardens in Hitchin.
